Each team will be given the option to extend 1 player per season. You will make a contract extension proposal and the TAB will vote, a vote of 4-3 or better is needed to approve of the contract extension. A reasoning as to why you came up with the number would be best so the voters have some reasoning behind the selected number.
Ex.
The Penguins would like to extend Eric Tangradi (PIT - LW) to a 4 year (2015-2016) contract worth $1,500,000 per year.
Tangradi had production so far as players such as
Asham - 180 fan points (1,000,000) Eberle - 195 fan points (1,200,000) etc.
we feel that Tangradi will grow with the penguins as his top 6 minutes should increase so paying him more then these players fits in to the penguins future plans.

Pens, are we setting a deadline for extensions, like the NHL Finals? This should be done before the RFA bidding starts at any rate. And there should be a limit of extension offers per GM. They can try three times to extend players on their team, but only can have the one sign the extension. and only one extension offer at a time.

Also need to add that you can only extend players whose contract expires in the upcoming offseason.

A bump so that extensions are presented in the right format. Contracts or comparable players at the same position/years of experience. Preferably those who were signed as UFA or extended in this league to get a better value than those who still have their original NHL contracts.
