The New Jersey Devils are looking to extend the contract of defenceman John Michael Liles.
He was just signed by the Leafs to a 4 year $3,750,000 Million dollar deal.
We are looking to offer 3 years for $2,750,000. After a great deal of research, here are some of Liles' comparables when it come to Fpts (70-90 range)
Matt Niskanen – $1,500,000 Jonny Boychuck $1,875,000 John Carlson - $845,833 Andrew Ference - $2,250,000 Ekman Larsson - $1,750,000 Jay Harrison - $700,000 Sergei Gonchar - 5,500,000 Fedor Tyutin - $2,843,750 Josh Georges - $2,500,000 Jack Johnson - $4,357,143 Carl Gunnarsson - $1,325,000 Marc Eduard-Vlasic - $3,100,000
I'd say the median of all of those contracts is 2,750,000 and that is why we decided to offer that. (Besides Gonchar's ridiculous contract.)

I think fantasy points per game should play a role just considering Liles has missed a fair amount of games. But im not on the TAB so this is by no means a vote against just an idea.

Agreed, he has missed 10 games, that is why I put it from the 70-95 Fpt range! So i took that into consideration! He currently sits at 80.

Hold on. According to the rules we are only allowed to extend one player per season and Devils already extended Erik Johnson.

Erik Johnson was RFA. Liles is UFA. We are allowed 3 RFA's and 1 UFA. Therefore I have used up my UFA and 1 RFA of my current team.

no, you only get one contract extension per year. You have the option to match any offers on an RFA in the offseason and IF a player is not offered a contract then you can propose a one year contract to the TAB to vote on. So no, you can not use another extension

I could swear that at the beginning of the season you said "3 RFA bids and 1 UFA" but okay I guess

hey Devils,
That is my fault for not stating the rule properly. What I mean in the rules is that in the offseason you are allowed to bid on OTHER teams RFA's. And you can bid on up to 3 of them, and if you win or lose one then you move down the list to 2 or 1 etc. Then the team who owns the rights has the chance to match.
I will adjust the rules to show this, people have to remember that I had a very short period of time to get the rules and the league up and running at the start because our other league had been deleted. Anyways man, I apologize.
