The Vancouver Canucks would like to extend Parise to a 4 year deal worth $6,100,000.
Parise is the 13th ranked leftwing this year producing 156.3 points at a rate of 2.95 points per games.
Comparable LWs:
Scott Hartnel - 198.65 (3.75 PPG) - $4,200,000
Joffrey Lupul - 189.5 (3.51 PPG) $4,250,000
Daniel Sedin - 185.4 (3.57 PPG) - $6,100,000
Pavel Datsyuk - 181.5 (3.42 PPG) - $6,700,000
James Neal - 180.8 (3.35 PPG) -$5,250,000 (extended this year)
Jamie Benn - 172.45 (3.67 PPG) - $5,500,000 (extended this year)
Milan Lucic - 165.3 (3.31 PPG) - 4,083,333
Ilya Kovalchuk - 160.35 (3.34 PPG) - $ 6,666,667
Patrick Elias - 159.2 (3.06 PPG) - $6,000,000
Other good Comparables:
David Backes - 183.55 (3.53 PPG) - $4,500,000
Patrick Sharp - 164.5 (3.58 PPG) - $3,900,000
Corey Perry - 152.15 (2.93 PPG) - $5,325,000
Marian Hossa - 183 (3.45 PPG) - $5,275,000
Phil Kessel - 178.1 (3.3 PPG) - $5,400,000
Johan Franzen - 172.3 (3.19 PPG) $3,954,545
Ryan Kesler - 152.6 (3.18 PPG) $5,000,000
Tried to leave out guys on ELC as well as grossly overpaid payers(Ovechkin) and underpaid players(Burrows) also guys who simply don't hold the same name value such as Versteeg, Moulson etc even though they are also outproducing Parise. Neal and Benn are probably best comparable both being LW and having been extended in our league this year to lesser amounts even though they have higher points and PPG . The only player who Parise is outproducing on this list is Perry and that's by a margin of .02 PPG. This would make Parise tied for the 3rd highest paid on this list behind only Datsyuk who is arguably the best all around player in league and Kovalchuk who posses another offensive level.
Almost feel i am overpaying slightly for the name but Parise is a definate top liner in the league and this would make him tied with the Sedins for the highest paid players on my team.
